About us

Our purpose and aims

Wesleys Café and Community Hub is the main way in which Baildon Methodist Church serves the local community.

We welcome people of all faiths or none. We offer a warm welcome – to enjoy refreshment in our café, to find friendship, to join one of the many activities, or just sit for a while in a cosy, friendly, place without having to spend any money.

We are inspired and energised by our commitment to being a “Jesus-Shaped Church”, and the command of Jesus that we should love our neighbours as ourselves.

Over 1,000 people come through our doors each week, and more than 40 groups and activities meet here. Our activities use the church hall, Wesleys Café area and surrounding rooms, and our new building (opened in autumn 2019), called 'The Fold'.

Wesleys is one of four Community Hubs across Baildon which are supported by Baildon Town Council. The others are Baildon Community Link, St Hugh’s Church Centre and St James’s Church. The four Hubs work closely together to respond to local need.

If you coming to Wesleys for the first time, the café is a good place to start. As well as enjoying some refreshment, you can ask for a paper copy of the current programme of regular activities from the café hatch.
